iPhone – international calls
Awesome! the new iPhone……..
iPhone, which uses a SIM card, is technically capable of working on any GSM network in the world, but AT&T and Apple have an agreement that it must be locked to the AT&T network. AT&T just tucked Cingular into its empire and so having a Cingular contract and trouble with the battery or some other part of a relatively new Cingular-acquired phone, it was possible to switch to a new iPhone.
Hopefully, this will mean having a phone that will work in London and Rome and Frankfort, and wherever one roams.
Apparently, if you make a lot of international calls, there is a new service – Jajah – that costs only 3 cents a minute with no surcharge.
(AT&T mobile service – which used to be Cingular – currently charges $4 a month to make international calls. Then, if you want to call Rome or Dublin, you have to pay 23 cents a minute.
Steps to get Jajah service:
- Sign up for free at JAJAH.com (one more login ID and password, but may be worth it.)
- Browse to mobile.jajah.com with your iPhone.
- Enter your friend’s phone number and click “CALL”.
- Make unlimited international calls for 3¢ per minute
